PRISTINA (Kosovo), September 24 (SeeNews) – Kosovo's trade deficit increased by 1.2% year-on-year to 279.9 million euro ($307.8 million) in August, the country's statistical office said on Tuesday.
Exports rose by 4.7% to 31.9 million euro in August, while imports increased by 1.6% to 311.8 million euro, the Agency of Statistics said in a monthly economic report.
Kosovo's main export destinations in August were Albania, India and North Macedonia. Base metals, food, beverages and tobacco, plastic products as well as vegetable products were Kosovo's main export items.
Mineral products, food, beverages and tobacco as well as machinery, mechanical and electrical equipment made up the bulk of Kosovo's imports in August. Most of the imports originated in Germany, Turkey and China.
