BELGRADE (Serbia), November 15 (SeeNews) – Australian company Jadar Lithium, formerly known as South East Asia Resources, has defined a number of areas with elevated lithium and borate values during its phase two soil sampling programme at the Vranje-South project in Serbia, it said.
There is generally positive correlation between the two elements in a number of zones, mainly the central and eastern portion of the license area, Jadar Lithium said in a filing with the Australia Stock Exchange earlier this week.
The lithium values peak at 220 part per million (ppm), with a number of samples grade above 150 ppm, while the boron values peak at 826 ppm, the company said.
Earlier this year, the company said it completed a phase one sampling programme which consisted of scout mapping, soil & stream sediment sampling along district scale faults within the permit, to determine whether anomalous lithium and boron mineralisation was present.
As a result of the initial programme, a number of areas with elevated lithium and boron values were outlined. The phase two work programme consisted of further sampling to determine the extent and trends of the anomalies.
In December, Jadar Lithium agreed to acquire the entire capital of Centralist Pty Ltd which holds five Serbian lithium exploration licences - Cer, Bukulja, Rekovac, Krajkovac and Vranje-South - covering a total area of some 328 square kilometres.
