June 14 (SeeNews) - US-based digital service provider Accenture said on Tuesday it will provide new infrastructure-as-a-service (IaaS) technology platform to Greece's Eurobank Ergasias [EUROB:ATH] under a ten-year agreement that involves the bank’s subsidiaries in Romania, Bulgaria, Serbia and Ukraine.
The initiative is designed to support Eurobank's digital transformation programme and enable its growth in southeast Europe by strengthening service levels and reducing the costs of its subsidiary infrastructure, Accenture said in a statement.
Accenture will provide technology transformation and delivery services based on an advanced IaaS platform that will support the bank’s core functions, including deposits and loans, online banking, transaction processing, and credit card and debit services.
"This upgrade and transformation of Eurobank Group’s IT infrastructure is part of our strategy to enhance our operational efficiencies and effectiveness by adapting our broader digital transformation program to support all the European markets we serve," deputy CEO Stavros Ioannou said in the statement.
Eurobank holds a strategic position in retail and business banking in Greece, Bulgaria, Romania and Serbia, offers wealth management services in Cyprus, Luxembourg and England and is also present in Ukraine.
