April 11 (SeeNews) - German solar module maker Solar-Fabrik AG (ETR:SFX) has delivered solar modules and inverters for a 250 kW solar power plant in Torbali, the Turkish province of Izmir.
The solar plant was developed by Ankara-based Altungrup Solar Enerji ve Enerji and put into operation in March, Solar-Fabrik said on Wednesday. The solar farm consists of 1,044 Solar-Fabrik modules installed on the roof of logistics company Reyas which are expected to generate 470 MWh of electricity a year.
With average annual solar radiation of 1,311 kWh/m2 Turkey has a great potential to produce electricity from solar power. Solar power plant operators get a fixed feed-in tariff of USD 0.13 (EUR 0.10) per kWh. The country aims to add some 600 MW in installed solar capacity by 2015.
