Gerresheimer is investing "a mid-double-digit million euro figure" in the new plant, the company said in a press release last week, adding that amount is already included in its medium-term investment plans.
The construction of the plant will begin in the first half of 2019 and is expected to be completed in the first half of 2020, the company said. The plant will start operation in the second half of 2020.
The plant will initially manufacture medical plastic systems, and add prefillable glass syringes lines at a later stage.
Up to 400 jobs may be created in the medium term.
