April 13 (SeeNews) - German mobility services provider FlixMobility, operating in Bulgaria via its FlixBus brand, said on Wednesday that it will launch on April 15 a new service connecting Bulgarian capital Sofia to Serbia's Belgrade.
The service on the Sofia - Belgrade route will be operated three times per week - on Tuesdays, Fridays, and Sundays, the company said in an e-mailed statement.
The new service will be offered in partnership with Bulgarian bus carrier Karat-S, which since 2020 has partnered with Flix on two other routes - from Sofia to Germany's Dortmund and to Austria's Innsbruck.
With the easing of Covid-19 restrictions and the recovery of travel demand, FlixBus will increase the frequency of its bus service to and from Bulgaria during the Easter holidays, it said.
Starting from the middle of April, passengers will be able to travel more frequently between Sofia and Bucharest, as well as from Bulgaria's second-largest city of Plovdiv to Croatia's Zagreb, Slovenia's Ljubljana, Austria's Villach and Salzburg and Germany's Munich.
FlixMobility has been active on the Bulgarian market since 2018. The company was founded as the start-up FlixBus in Munich in 2013. It currently operates a bus network serving more than 2,500 routes in 37 countries. Along with FlixBus, FlixMobility also operates railway service FlixTrain and carpool service FlixCar.
