September 10 (SeeNews) - The main equity indices of the Zagreb Stock Exchange (ZSE) ended higher on Friday thanks to gains in food and pharmaceuticals producer Podravka [ZSE:PODR] and distributor of fast-moving consumer goods Atlantic Grupa [ZSE:ATGR], bourse data showed.
The ZSE's blue-chip 18-share benchmark CROBEX rose 0.81% to finish at 1,972.83 points.
The narrower of the ZSE's two blue-chip indices, the CROBEX10, which tracks the top companies in terms of free float, market capitalisation and liquidity, advanced 0.58% to end at 1,207.33 points.
July like on Thursday, shipping company Atlantska Plovidba [ZSE:ATPL] was the most liquid share, generating a turnover of 1.2 million kuna ($190,000/160,000 euro)on Friday. Its shares surged 5.15% to finish at 490 kuna. Atlantska Plovidba is now part of the CROBEX index and the bourse announced on Thursday it would become also one of the CROBEX10 members following a regular revision of the main indices, instead of fixed internet and pay-TV services provider OT-Optima Telekom [ZSE:OPTE].
The index will be calculated with the new constituent as of September 20.
Podravka's shares added 0.67% to end at 600 kuna in a turnover of 735,000 kuna. Atlantic Grupa's shares also went up 0.67% to 1,500 kuna in a turnover of 106,500 kuna.
The ZSE's turnover rose to 6.3 million kuna from 3.8 million kuna on Thursday, with 2.7 million kuna out of total contributed by block trading in Atlantic Grupa's shares at a price of 1,500 kuna per share.
