May 13 (SeeNews) - At least four people are missing after the explosion at the factory of chemicals company Melamin [LJSE:MKOG] in Kocevje, general manager Srecko Stefanic said.
“Chances that they have survived are slim,” Stefanic said in a video file posted on the YouTube channel of the STA news agency on Thursday.
A total of 20 people were injured by the blast, which took place at 08:35 CET on Thursday. The ensuing fire was extinguished by 10:00 CET.
"The people injured in yesterday's accident in Kocevje, who are being treated at the University Medical Center Ljubljana, are alive. One is still unidentified, and in very poor condition," the medical center said of its Twitter profile on Friday.
The accident was caused by a human error during the pumping of epichlorohydrin, a raw material for the production of resin, public broadcaster RTV reported on Thursday.
