May 12 (SeeNews) - EVN Bulgaria, part of Austrian energy group EVN, said that it is investing 11.6 million levs ($6.4 million /5.9 million euro) in the construction of a new electricity substation in Bulgaria's second-largest city of Plovdiv.
The Evmolpiya substation featuring a 40/50 MVA power transformer would meet growing electricity demand from new builds in the central and eastern parts of the city, EVN Bulgaria said in a statement on Monday.
The installed capacity could be increased to 100 MVA at a later stage.
Works on the substation are halfway through, with basic construction works already completed, the company noted.
