June 12 (SeeNews) - If there is one thing the Ukraine war demonstrated to the world, it is that a new defence layer has emerged between the ground forces and the aerial capabilities: the drones’ layer. With lower upfront capital investment than usual aerial defence systems, serious dual-use properties and vital strategic significance, production of unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs), integrated defence systems and related technologies in Southeast Europe (SEE) is expanding. Both private companies and governments are investing in new drone capabilities amid global tensions. New factories and international partnerships are emerging across the region, in response to growing demand.
