May 18 (SeeNews) - The Croatian parliament voted to dissolve itself ahead of regular general elections planned to take place by mid-July, it said on Monday.
The country's assembly gave no further details in a brief note published on its website.
Prime minister Andrej Plenkovic said last week the possible dates for the vote, which will be called by president Zoran Milanovic, are June 21, June 28, July 5 and July 12.
According to latest opinion polls, Plenkovic's ruling centre-right Croatian Democratic Union (HDZ) has regained its lead ahead of the Social Democratic Party (SDP) on the back of high public approval in how the government handled the coronavirus crisis.
