June 1 (SeeNews) - The main equity indices of the Zagreb Stock Exchange (ZSE) ended lower on Wednesday as gains in food and pharmaceuticals company Podravka failed to offset losses in the other blue chips, bourse data showed.
The overall trading turnover reached 999,500 euro ($1.07 million) from 613,000 euro on Monday. On Tuesday, the bourse was closed for the National Day.
The 15-share CROBEX lost 0.37% to end at 2,257.24 points. The narrower index CROBEX10, which tracks the top ten issuers in terms of free float, market capitalisation and liquidity, dipped 0.18% to finish at 1,300.15 points.
Food and pharmaceuticals company Podravka [ZSE:PODR] was the most traded stock for the day with a turnover of 159,300 euro. Its price rose 1.22% to 99.80 euro.
Shares of shipping company Atlantska Plovidba [ZSE:ATPL] dropped 2.08% to close at 56.60 euro in a turnover of 150,000 euro.
Third by turnover, with 133,000 euro, was exchange-traded fund InterCapital BET-TR UCITS ETF, [ZSE:7BET] tracking Romanian stocks, which made its market debut on the regulated market segment of the Zagreb bourse on Wednesday. At the start of trading, the fund traded at 10.10 euro per unit to close at 9.96 euro.
