ZAGREB (Croatia), June 16 (SeeNews) - New passenger car registrations in Croatia fell by 6.0% on the year in the first five months of 2022, to 17,948, the European Automobile Manufacturers Association (ACEA) said on Thursday, quoting provisional figures.

In May alone, new passenger car registrations in Croatia dropped by 9.2% on the year to 4,055, ACEA said in a statement.

New passenger car registrations in the EU, excluding Malta, declined 13.7% year-on-year to 3.72 million in the January-May period of 2022, ACEA said in a statement.

In EU12, which encompasses member states that have joined the EU since 2004, registrations were 7.2% lower on the year at 463,937 in the first five months of 2022.

New passenger car registrations in Croatia increased by 25% to 44,915 in 2021, following a 43% drop in 2020.
