February 15 (SeeNews) - The gross written premiums of Croatian insurers totalled 930 million kuna ($156 million/125 million euro) in January, up 3.4% on the year, official figures showed.
Gross written premiums from non-life insurance rose 5.36% year-on-year to 715.6 million kuna in January, while the life insurance segment earned premiums of 214.4 million kuna, 1.74% below the prior-year level, according to figures published on the website of the Croatian Insurance Bureau on Wednesday.
At the end of 2017, 23 insurance companies operated in the country. They earned gross written premiums of 9.1 billion kuna, up 3.38% on the year.
