- The processing industry accounted for 9.8% of industrial output in the first eight months of the year, while the number of newly jobless people from this sector increased by 50%, from 28,153 in 2008 to 42,263 in 2009. If this trend continues, the number of new unemployed persons in the processing industry will exceed 50,000 in 2010, which demands urgent and concrete measures, heads of Croatian Employers Association’s HUP said.
- Croatian bank Jadranska recorded a net profit of 23 million kuna in the first nine months of the year, 16.6% down on the year.
