- The life insurance market in Croatia will stagnate through 2010 after a two-year decline, head of life insurance at Croatia Osiguranje Zeljko Jukic said. The market recovery is expected to start in 2011 before gathering stronger pace in 2012, he said.

- The total assets of banks operating in Croatia rose by only 1.2% in the first nine months of 2009 to 374.13 billion kuna, aggregate data from the Croatian central bank showed. The combined profit of the lenders fell 22% on the year to 3.09 billion kuna at the end of September, data showed.
