September 17 (SeeNews) - The number of building permits issued in Croatia rose to 931 in July, 3.8% up from a year earlier, the State Statistics Bureau said.
The number of building permits issued in the first seven months of 2009 increased by 13.0% on the year, the statitics office said on its website.
In July alone permits issued on buildings rose to 836 with total volume of 1.18 million cubic metres from 775 permits with volume of 0.98 billion cubic metres in July 2008.
The value of construction works decreased to 2.21 billion kuna ($0.447 billion/0.303 billion euro) in July from 3.01 billion kuna a year earlier.
Permits issued on buildings in July were 89.8% of the total, while only 10.2% were issued on civil engineering works.
