January 18 (SeeNews) - A consortium led by Slovenia's Kolektor CPG has completed the digging works on the first kilometre of tunnels along the second track of the Divaca-Koper railway line, state-run project company 2TDK said.
A total of 1,006 metres have been dug by the consortium at Lokev and Mlinarji tunnels and both sides of the Skofije tunnel so far, 2TDK said in a statement on Monday.
The consortium will have to complete the works on about 37,000 metres of tunnels by 2024, 2TDK said.
The second track of the railway should be built in 2025, and the line should be opened in 2026.
The two sections of the line, worth 224.7 million euro ($255.9 million) and 403.6 million euro, are beinng built by a consortium of Kolektor CPG and Turkey's Yapi Merkezi and Ozaltin.
