February 11 (SeeNews) - Cinema operator Cinema City, part of UK-based Cineworld Group, said that it has opened a new multiplex cinema in Romania's central city of Brasov following a 7 million euro ($8 million) investment.
The new multiplex is located in AFI Brasov shopping mall and has 8 cinema halls, Cinema City said in a press release on Thursday.
The investment was made by both the cinema operator and the shopping mall's developer.
Present in Romania since 2007, Cinema City owns 28 cinema theatres and 255 halls in 21 cities. In the last two years, the company invested 20 million euro in Romania.
Its parent, Cineworld Group plc, was founded in 1995 and operates in the UK, Ireland, Poland, the Czech Republic, Slovakia, Hungary, Bulgaria, Romania, Israel and the US.
