SARAJEVO (Bosnia and Herzegovina), August 22 (SeeNews) – Chinese investors are interested in Bosnia and Herzegovina's stone quarries, with research works taking place at several locations near the municipalities of Berkovici and Ljubinje, the local government of Berkovici said.
Four investors have expressed their interest in building four factories in the Herzegovina region, which is rich in stone, the Berkovici government quoted Bosnia's foreign trade minister Mirko Sarovic as saying in a press release on Tuesday.
Four years ago a Chinese investor opened mining company Kremnice in Berkovici, where stone is processed and exported to China to be used in the construction industry.
Every month Kremnice exports 70 containers via the Croatian port of Ploce to China, Sarovic noted.
The company currently employs 58 workers and has potential for growth.
Berkovici and Ljubinje are located in the Serb Republic, one of two entities that make up Bosnia and Herzegovina. The other is the Federation.
