September 1 (SeeNews) - Bulgaria's gas transmission system operator Bulgartransgaz on Tuesday called a tender for the delivery and construction of high-pressure gas pipeline to, and gas regulation stations in three towns on the Danube river.
The project worth 23.2 million euro ($33.2 million) is financed from Bulgartransgaz' own funds and funds provided by the Kozloduy International Decommissioning Support Fund (KIDSF), administered by the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD), the lender said in a procurement notice.
The procurement is related to the delivery of about 150 kilometres of steel pipes for a high-pressure gas pipeline, other pipes of smaller diameter, as well as other fittings, plus gas valves and gas regulation stations to be located in the towns of Silistra, Kozloduy and Oryahovo. The procurement also includes the construction of the pipelines and the stations.
KIDSF was established in 2001 to support projects for restructuring and upgrades in Bulgaria's energy sector, thus compensating the country for the decommissioning four reactors of 440 MW each at its sole nuclear power plant Kozloduy.
