July 10 (SeeNews) - Bulgaria’s electricity production decreased by an annual 2.44% to 23,020 GWh in the January 1 - July 8 period, according to data from the country's Electricity System Operator (ESO).
Electricity consumption fell 5.47% on the year to 20,087 GWh, data published on the ESO website shows.
Power exports rose by 25.04% year-on-year to 2,933 GWh in the period under review.
Last year, Bulgaria halted electricity exports from January 13 to February 9 to meet increased domestic demand amidst harsh winter weather conditions.
The volume of renewable energy in the transmission system fell 2.76% on the year to 650 GWh in the January 1 – July 8 period, while the volume of renewable energy in the distribution system decreased by 10.86% year-on-year to 874 GWh.
