SOFIA (Bulgaria), January 30 (SeeNews) – Bulgaria’s power output and consumption declined in the double digits in the January 1 - 28 period, according to data of the country's Electricity System Operator (ESO).
Electricity production fell by an annual 12% to 3,764,589 MWh during the review period, while power consumption shrank 137% on the year to 3,630,325 MWh, data published on the ESO website shows.
Electricity exports increased by 16% year-on-year to 134,264 MWh in the period under review.
Last year, Bulgaria halted electricity exports from January 13 to February 9 to meet increased domestic demand amid harsh winter weather conditions.
Renewable energy in the transmission system fell by 14% on the year to 85,859 MWh in the January 1 – January 28 period, while renewable energy in the distribution system dropped 17% to 97,044 MWh.
