June 10 (SeeNews) - Bulgarian state-owned thermal power plant (TPP) Maritsa Iztok 2 has launched maintenance works on its 177 MW Unit 3, the Independent Bulgarian Energy Exchange (IBEX) said on Monday.
The unit is expected to be reconnected to the grid on June 12, IBEX said in a notice.
During the maintenance period, the unit will be left with 78 MW of available capacity.
TPP Maritsa Iztok 2 has eight operating units with a total installed capacity of 1,620 MW.
