December 20 (SeeNews) - State-owned thermal power plant (TPP) Maritsa Iztok 2 said that it has opened a 7.4 million levs ($4.3 million/3.8 million euro) tender for supply of heavy fuel oil.
The heavy fuel oil should meet the requirements set by the State Agency of Goods Exchange and Market Places, the power plant said in a tender notice on Wednesday.
Earlier this year, Bulgaria's energy ministry set up working group tasked with analysing the financial situation of TPP Maritsa Iztok 2 and coming up with measures for its stabilisation.
TPP Maritsa Iztok 2 posted a net loss of 265.7 million levs in the first nine months of the year, up from 83.6 million levs in the same period of 2017.
Maritsa Iztok 2 has eight operating units with a total installed capacity of 1,620 MW.
