SOFIA (Bulgaria), November 20 (SeeNews) - Bulgarian thermal power plant (TPP) Bobov Dol [BUL:TC8A] said on Wednesday that it turned to a consolidated net loss of 15.4 million levs ($8.7 million/7.9 million euro) in the first nine months of 2019 from a net profit of 3.2 million levs in the same period of 2018.
The company's revenue rose to 92 million levs in the January-September period of 2019 from 80.7 million levs in the comparable period of last year, TPP Bobov Dol said in an interim financial statement.
The power plant's operating expenses grew to 107.4 million levs in the review period from 77.4 million levs in the like period of 2018, mostly due to a sharp rise in expenses for materials.
TPP Bobov Dol, established in 2000, is a coal-fired power plant located in the Kyustendil region, in southwestern Bulgaria, with an installed capacity of 630 megawatts. In 2008, the government sold Bobov Dol TPP to Consortium Energy MK, which remains its sole owner.
