January 10 (SeeNews) - AES Bulgaria said on Wednesday that in 2023 its St. Nikola wind farm generated its highest-ever output, of 372,485 MWh, improving by close to 5% the all-time high electricity production volume posted the year prior.
In December alone, the wind park on Bulgaria's northeastern Black Sea coast produced 42,290 MWh of green power, AES Bulgaria, part of U.S.-based energy conglomerate AES Corporation, said in a press release. This represents an annual increase of some 21% compared to previously released data for December 2022.

The electricity generated by the 156-MW St Nikola wind park last year was enough to meet the annual energy consumption of more than 100,000 Bulgarian households, or all households in the Dobrich and Silistra regions.
The onshore facility near the town of Kavarna is equipped with 52 Vestas turbines of 3 MW each and was commissioned in 2010. The minority stake is held by German company Geo Power.
