March 23 (SeeNews) - The deposits of Bulgaria's non-government sector grew by 14.3% on the year to some 117.8 billion levs ($64.96 billion/60.23 billion euro) in February, after adding 14.2% in January, the central bank said on Thursday.
At the end of last month, the value of non-government deposits was equivalent to 66.6% of Bulgaria's gross domestic product (GDP) projected for 2023, the Bulgarian National Bank said in a monthly monetary statistics report.
Household deposits were 8.9% higher year-on-year at 72.98 billion levs in February, whereas household loans grew by 14.8% to 33.66 billion levs.
Deposits of non-financial corporations amounted to 40.96 billion levs at the end of last month, equivalent to 23.2% of the projected GDP. They marked an annual rise of 27% in February, following an increase of 26.6% in January.
