January 18 (SeeNews) - New passenger car registrations in Bulgaria increased by 16.9% on the year to 28,684 in 2022 amid a contracted European market as a whole, the European Automobile Manufacturers Association (ACEA) said on Wednesday.
In December alone, the number of newly-registered passenger cars in Bulgaria climbed by 12.9% in annual terms, reaching 2,009, ACEA said in a press release.
Across the EU excluding Malta, new passenger car registrations fell by 4.6% to 9.26 million units in 2022. The market was impacted by component shortages in the first half of the year. Despite an improvement from August to December, the annual level was the lowest since 1993, when 9.2 million units were registered.
