March 24 (SeeNews) - An emergency stoppage at the nitric acid production unit of Bulgarian fertiliser producer Neochim [BUL:NEOH] occurred in the early hours of Friday, the company said
The unexpected shutdown required operations to be also suspended at the ammonium nitrate and turbo-generator station units, due to their technological interdependence, Neochim said in a bourse filing.
The shutdown came just over a day after the company resumed operations at the three units following an emergency stoppage earlier this week.
Neochim, a constituent of Bulgaria's blue-chip SOFIX stock index, has faced a number of manufacturing disruptions in the past few months, most recently shutting down its ammonia manufacturing unit for about a month as a result of technical issues reported in January.
Shares in Neochim last closed flat at 39.00 levs ($21.38/19.94 euro) on the Bulgarian Stock Exchange on Thursday.
