March 6 (SeeNews) - Bulgaria's National Electricity Company - NEK, has launched a tender for rehabilitation of Vacha-1 HPP 110 kV switchyard and other HPP systems of integrated control, the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) said on Wednesday.
NEK will partially finance the contract with funds from the EBRD-managed Kozloduy International Decommissioning Support Fund (KIDSF), the EBRD said in a procurement notice.

"... the scope of the contract includes design, manufacture, delivery, installation, designer supervision, adjustment, testing and commissioning of the Facilities: new 110 kV high voltage equipment: disconnectors, measuring transformers, circuit breakers for Vacha -1 HPP switchyard; integrated control system, excitation systems, turbine governors, relay protections, new hydro unit, electric meters," the EBRD said.
The procurement procedure is open to companies from all countries.
The deadline for submitting offers is May 8.
The KIDSF finances or co-finances projects related to the decommissioning of four units of Bulgaria's sole nuclear power plant Kozloduy, which were closed down to address the nuclear safety concerns of the European Union prior to the country's accession to the bloc in 2007.
