December 7 (SeeNews) - The gross domestic product (GDP) per person employed in Bulgaria grew by an annual 1.9% to 9,879.3 levs ($5,701/5,051 euro) in the third quarter of 2021, the country's statistical office said on Tuesday, citing preliminary data.
Gross value added (GVA) per person employed increased by 0.9% on the year, while GVA per hour worked went up by an annual 1.8% in real terms in the three months through September, the National Statistical Institute (NSI) said in a statement.
GVA per person employed in the industrial sector was 9,067.8 levs in the review period. In the services sector, an average of 8,866.3 levs of gross value added was generated by a person employed. The agricultural sector saw the lowest labour productivity, of 3,567.3 levs per person.
More than 3.6 million people were employed in Bulgaria at the end of the third quarter, according to NSI. The total number of hours worked in July-September was 1.46 billion.
