April 1 (SeeNews) - Deliveries of natural gas to Bulgaria rose 1.6% year-on-year in January to 387 million cu m, which was also a 5.2% increase compared to December 2021, the statistical office said on Friday.
On a monthly comparison basis, Bulgaria's own output of natural gas remained flat at 2 million cu m in the first month of 2022, but halved compared to January 2021 when it had amounted to 4 million cu m, the National Statistical Institute (NSI) said in a statement.
In January, electricity production grew by 24.4% on the year and by 3.1% month-on-month to reach 5,168 GWh. Oil products output also went up, to 566,000 tonnes from 341,000 tonnes in the same month of 2021. That was also 63.6% higher than in the last month of 2021.
On an annual comparison basis, Bulgaria's electricity deliveries in the review month increased 5.5% to 3,570 GWh, whereas deliveries of oil products slid 7.9% to 325,000 tonnes.
