SOFIA (Bulgaria), August 5 (SeeNews) - Bulgaria's Electricity System Operator (ESO) said on Monday that it has signed a 28.5 million levs ($16.2 million/14.6 million euro) contract with local Impuls Ko for the construction of a 400 kV overhead transmission line.

The 45-km power line is part of the project for construction of a line connecting thermal power plant ContourGlobal Maritsa East 3 and the city of Burgas, ESO said in a notice.

The contract was signed on July 30 and is part of a framework agreement between the two companies.

The project benefits from EU funding under the Connecting Europe Facility.
