January 12 (SeeNews) - Bulgarian cargo drone developer Dronamics said that together with fifteen private mobility companies it will advise the EU on global transport innovation as part of the EU Future Mobility Taskforce initiative.
The collaboration, initiated by Estonian ride-hailing company Bolt and Spanish multi-mobility platform Cabify, aims to address key challenges that innovators in the mobility sector face, promoting EU objectives and Europe’s competitiveness in advanced mobility, Dronamics said in a statement on Thursday.
The task force brings together EU unicorns and startups across cargo, air mobility, shared mobility, EV charging, maglev and rail, focusing on transport innovation and deep tech. It seeks to introduce new solutions that meet consumer demand and enhance sustainability, affordability and connectivity in mobility.
The partnership will address issues such as outdated and fragmented regulation, lack of enforcement, market entry barriers and access to finance and data. Despite Europe's advancements in mobility, it needs to fully leverage next-generation solutions alongside existing ones and scale them globally, Dronamics said.
The EU Future Mobility Taskforce will inform and guide EU policymakers for the next legislative mandate. Its first input will be a comprehensive report, presenting collective insights and recommendations to European Commissioner for Transport Adina Valean this spring.
“As Europe's cargo drone airline, we are delighted to be part of the EU Future Mobility Taskforce, working with fellow mobility innovators and unicorns. Middle-mile deliveries by cargo drones have a significant potential for the European as well as the global economy at large, enabling faster, cheaper and green goods mobility, key to advancing the European Commission’s Sustainable and Smart Mobility Strategy,” Dronamics co-founder and CEO Svilen Rangelov said.
The founding companies of the initiative comprise Aura Aero, Bolt, Cabify, Carto, Dronamics, EVBOX, EV Connect, Fastned, Flix, Lilium, MaasGlobal, Nevomo, Otiv, Volocopter, Voi and Virta.
