August 12 (SeeNews) - The average gross monthly wage in Bulgaria increased by 13.4% in annual terms in the second quarter of 2022 to reach 1,730 levs ($910/885 euro), the statistical institute said on Friday.
On a quarterly comparison basis, the average gross monthly wage rose 7.8% in the April-June period, the National Statistical Institute (NSI) said in a statement.
Remunerations in the administrative and support services sector posted the highest annual increase, of 21%, followed by other service activities with a 19% growth.
The highest average wage in the second quarter, of 4,216 levs, was recorded in the information and communications sector, followed by financial and insurance activities with 2,739 levs. The accommodation and food services sector had the lowest gross wage, of 1,058 levs.
Average wages across all sectors surpassed the 1,000 levs mark in the review period, the data set showed.
On an annual comparison basis, the average monthly wages in the public sector added 7.8% while in the private sector they were 15.4% higher, NSI added.
