May 17 (SeeNews) - New passenger car registrations in Bulgaria went up by 18.5% on the year to 10,694 units in the first four months of 2023, the European Automobile Manufacturers' Association (ACEA) said on Wednesday.
In April alone, the number of newly-registered passenger cars in Bulgaria increased by an annual 20.1% to 2,838, ACEA said in a press release.

In the January-April period, the highest annual rise was reported in battery electric vehicle (EV) registrations, by 190% to 583 units. Plug-in hybrid vehicles followed with a 92.1% surge to 73 units.
Petrol was the most popular fuel type for newly-registered cars in Bulgaria in the first four months of 2023, with 7,635 units, followed by diesel cars with 2,163 and battery EVs with 583 units.
In the EU, new passenger car registrations climbed 17.8% year-on-year to 3.45 million units in the four months through April and grew by 17.2% to 803,188 units in April alone.
