August 23 (SeeNews) - Bulgarian thermal power plant (TPP) Bobov Dol [BUL:TC8A] said on Wednesday its net profit rose to 4.6 million levs ($2.8 million/2.3 million euro) in the first half of 2017 from 1.7 million levs in the like period of last year.
The company's sales revenue rose to 60.1 million levs in the January-June period, compared to 49.6 million levs a year earlier, Bobov Dol said in a bourse filing.
Costs for materials fell to 25.2 million levs in the period under review, from 28.4 million levs the year before. Other costs rose to 9.5 million levs in the first six months of the year, compared to 3.2 million levs in the like period of 2016.
The power plant sold 859,836,356 KWh of electricity in the first half, 33,881,011 KWh more compared to the corresponding period of 2016.
Bobov Dol, established in 2000, is a coal-fired power plant located in the Kyustendil region, in southwestern Bulgaria, with an installed capacity of 630 megawatts. In 2008, Bulgaria sold Bobov Dol to local consortium Energy MK, which is still the sole owner.
