March 5 (SeeNews) - Bulgaria's statistical office has revised its estimate of the country's annual gross domestic product (GDP) growth in the fourth quarter of 2019 to 3.1% from 3.5% announced last month, local media reported on Thursday.
The National Statistical Institute (NSI) has not included some 4 billion levs worth of imports of petroleum products in the GDP growth estimate, due to a new reporting regime, local news outlet Mediapool reported.
The NSI has taken measures to improve its communication with the customs agency to make sure it will receive the data on time, according to the media report.
Last month, the NSI said that, according to flash data, Bulgaria's GDP in the fourth quarter of 2019 has increased by 3.5% year-on-year to 32.4 billion levs, calculated in current prices. Imports fell 2.7% year-on-year in the fourth quarter, while exports decreased 1.5%, the NSI reported at the time.
