October 28 (SeeNews) - Bulgaria's business sentiment index fell 1.3 percentage points on the month in October, after dropping by 0.4 percentage points a month earlier, the National Statistics Institute (NSI) said on Wednesday.
In October, the construction sub-index lost 8.6 points due to managers' pessimistic assessments and expectations about the business situation in enterprises. Overall, managers continue to expect prices to fall over the next three months.
In October, the retail sub-index lost 0.5 percentage point due to the slight worsening of the assessments of the present situation, although managers don't expect significant change in the business situation over the next six months. The inquiry registered no expectations for a price rise.
The index gauging the business climate in the services sector extended its downward trend from August, losing a further 1.4 percentage points. Managers expect the business situation to worsen over the next six months. Overall, the expectations are for prices to fall in the next three months.
The October industry sub-index gained 2.1 percentage points due to the managers' more optimistic expectations about the business situation over the next six months. Managers continue to consider the present economic situation uncertain but the inquiry registered no inflationary expectations about the selling prices.
