March 31 (SeeNews) - The combined net profit of Bulgarian banks at end-February stood at 193.9 million levs ($105.9 million/99.18 million euro) unchanged from a year earlier, data from the country's central bank showed on Friday.
The banks' net interest income fell 9.8% on the year to 511.5 million levs at end-February, while net fee and commission income rose 6.1% to 168.7 million levs, according to the data published by the Bulgarian National Bank (BNB).
The banking sector's total net operating revenue fell 8.3% year-on-year to 592.3 million levs in the first two months.
The banks' total assets stood at 92.5 billion levs at the end of February, slightly up from 91.5 billion levs at end-January.
Twenty-two banks and six branches of foreign banks operate in Bulgaria.
