- Bulgaria plans to form a private-public partnership for the construction of its Hemus motorway designed to link the capital Sofia with the country's third-largest city of Varna, on the Black Sea coast, estimated to cost 1.5 billion euro, Regional Development Minister Rosen Plevneliev said.
KLASA
- The State Commission for Energy and Water Regulation (SCEWR) said it has approved an increase of water prices in 13 cities as of January next year. Water prices in the capital Sofia will increase by 10-12%.
- Bulgaria will open a tender for the construction of Lot 3 of its Trakia motorway, part of pan-European transport Corridor 8, between January 13 and 15, Regional Development Minister Rosen Plevneliev said. The government opened last month a tender for the motorway's Lot 2, which is a 31.8 kliometre stretch linking the cities of Stara Zagora and Nova Zagora. Fifty-six companies, of which 20 local, have bought tender documents for the Lot 2 so far. Offers are expected by January 11.

- Bulgarian cellulose producer Svilosa plans to resume operations in two weeks after almost a year-long pause caused by a fall in international prices of cellulose and paper, Svilosa board chairman Krasimir Dachev said.
