SARAJEVO (Bosnia and Herzegovina), January 7 (SeeNews) – Bosnia's Sarajevo International Airport said on Tuesday it serviced almost 1.144 million passengers last year, up 9% compared to 2018.
The airport serviced its millionth passenger at the end of October, which is a month and a half earlier compared to 2018, the airport operator said in a statement on its website.
Moreover, it broke several monthly records in 2019, servicing 119,200 passengers in June, up by an annual 28%, and a record-high 181,000 passengers in July, up 14% on the year, the statement said.
"All these indicators point that the growth in turnover, which the Sarajevo International Airport has been registering in the past couple of years, will continue in 2020," the statement added.
Last year, airplane operations at the Sarajevo Airport stood at 13,671, while the volume of serviced cargo totalled 2,520 tonnes, the company said without providing comparative figures for 2018.
