SARAJEVO (Bosnia and Herzegovina), June 21 (SeeNews) – Consumer price inflation in Bosnia's Federation slightly accelerated to 1% year-on-year in May, from 0.9% in the previous month, the entity's statistical office said.
On a monthly comparison basis, consumer prices in the Federation grew 0.3% in May, after growing by the same rate in April, the Federation's statistical office said in a statement on Thursday.
Prices of alcoholic beverages and tobacco in the entity rose 4.2% year-on-year, prices of food and non-alcoholic beverages were 2% higher, while prices of transport increased 2.1%. Prices in the sector of housing, water, electricity, gas and other fuels added 2.6%.
The biggest year-on-year drop in consumer prices in May was recorded in the clothing and footwear sector, of 9.8%.
The Federation is one of the two autonomous entities that form Bosnia and Herzegovina. The other one is the Serb Republic.
