January 3 (SeeNews) - Bosnian company Dacit expects to be granted a concession for a dacite quarry in Likari, near Srebrenica, in the north-eastern part of the country, local media reported.
The company plans to intially employ some 25 workers in the quarry, news agency SRNA reported on Thursday.
"By mid-2020 we expect that the legal procedure for granting concession rights to this company will be completed," SRNA quoted Srebrenica mayor Mladen Grujicic as saying. The company is ready to immediately launch preparations to open the Skakavac quarry and start mining for dacite, he added.
Dacite from the quarry can be used as an insulation material in construction, for which there is demand on the global market, Grujicic also said.
Srebrenica is located in the Serb Republic - one of two autonomous entities that form Bosnia and Herzegovina. The other one is the Federation.
