SARAJEVO (Bosnia and Herzegovina), February 21 (SeeNews) – Most of the share indices of Bosnia's two stock exchanges, in Sarajevo and Banja Luka, closed higher on Friday, compared to the values recorded a week earlier, bourse data showed.
The 10-share benchmark SASX-10 index of the Sarajevo Stock Exchange (SASE) gained 0.33% this week to close at 780.95 points on Friday.
The broader SASX-30 index, which is composed of the 30 most liquid stocks on the SASE, dropped by 0.30% to a closing value of 1,283.94.
The SASE index tracking investment funds, the BIFX, closed at 872.86 points, up by 1.44% from last Friday's close.
The Islamic stock index SASX-BBI, launched by the SASE and Bosna Bank International (BBI), advanced by 0.30% to 10,230.34 points. The index is tracking 25 companies.
SASE’s total trading turnover more than doubled to 4.7 million marka ($2.4 million/2.6 million euro) in five sessions this week, from 2.2 million marka in five trading days last week. This week's turnover was generated in 87 transactions, down from last week's 102.
Among the investment funds, ZIF Prof Plus [SASE:PRPFRK2] generated the largest turnover of 2.6 million marka this week. Its shares closed at 3.5 marka, down from last Friday's 3.4 marka.
SASE is based in the Federation, one of two autonomous entities that form Bosnia and Herzegovina. The Banja Luka Stock Exchange (BLSE) is based in the other entity, the Serb Republic.
The BLSE’s benchmark index, the BIRS, closed at 648.25 points, up 1.62% from last Friday's closing value.
Health tourism centre ZTC Banja Vrucica [BANJ:BVRU-R-A] generated the largest trading turnover, of 3.7 million marka, on the BLSE this week. The company's shares closed at 1.10 marka on Friday, up 0.92% from last Friday's close.
BLSE’s total trading turnover plunged to 6.43 million marka in five sessions this week, from 41.56 million marka in the five trading days of last week when the sale of six-month Treasury bills contributed 40 million marka of the total turnover.
This week's turnover was generated in 228 transactions versus last week's 220.
