SARAJEVO (Bosnia and Herzegovina), December 27 (SeeNews) – The share indices of Bosnia's two stock exchanges, in Sarajevo and Banja Luka, closed lower on Friday than the week-earlier levels, bourse data showed.
The 10-share benchmark SASX-10 index of the Sarajevo Stock Exchange (SASE) ended the week at 823.83 points, down from 847.75 points last Friday.
The broader SASX-30 index, which comprises the 30 most liquid stocks on the SASE, declined to 1,298.41 from 1,301.63 points on December 20.
The SASE index, tracking investment funds, the BIFX, closed at 909.78 points, down from last Friday's 920.53 points.
The Islamic stock index SASX-BBI, launched by SASE and Bosna Bank International (BBI), decreased to 10.501.42 after closing at 10,853.53 points last Friday. The index tracks 25 companies.
SASE is based in the Federation, one of two autonomous entities that form Bosnia and Herzegovina. The Banja Luka Stock Exchange (BLSE) is based in the other entity, the Serb Republic.
The BLSE’s benchmark index, the BIRS, closed at 608.86 points, down 0.49% from last Friday's closing value.
Nova Banka [NOVB-R-E] generated the largest trading turnover, of 564,228 marka, on the BLSE official market this week. The company's shares closed at 0.589 marka on Friday, up 1.72% from Thursday's close.
BLSE’s total trading turnover almost halved to 2.7 million marka this week, from 4.8 million marka last week. This week's turnover was generated in 407 transactions.
