August 1 (SeeNews) - Bosnian brewer Banjalucka Pivara [BANJ:BLPV-R-A] said its net profit dropped slightly to 3.013 million marka ($1.82 million/1.54 million euro) in the first half of the year, from 3.219 million marka a year earlier.
The company's revenue rose to 24.8 million marka in the six months through June from 24.3 million marka a year earlier, while operating costs grew to 21.3 million marka from 20.4 million marka, Banjalucka Pivara said in a financial statement on its website.
Sales volume rose by 2% on the year to 229,000 hectolitres, as a result of the efforts of the company to focus on higher value products, Banjalucka Pivara said.
"The second quarter has been good, though it is noticeable that consumer spending power is still dropping, which is having a direct impact on all consumer goods segments," the company noted.
Banjalucka Pivara is based in the Serb Republic - one of the two entities that form Bosnia. The other is the Federation.
