January 16 (SeeNews) - A worker was killed and four others were injured in an explosion at the Trayal factory in Parunovac, Krusevac municipality, eastern Serbia, local media reported on Tuesday.
The explosion occurred at around 9 am CET at the unit for the production of rocket fuel strips, RTV Krusevac reported.
The injured employees were taken to hospital.
Around 1,000 workers are employed at the factory which produces rubber goods, protective devices and industrial explosives.
The Serbian government became majority shareholder in Trayal in 2013, after cancelling a privatisation agreement with Bulgarian company Brikel.
