BELGRADE (Serbia), August 20 (SeeNews) – Belgrade share indices mounted a strong rally on Thursday as turnover jumped fivefold, bourse data showed.
The blue-chip BELEX15 index of the Belgrade Stock Exchange rose 3.59% to 659.05 points after gaining 0.15% on Wednesday. The broader BELEXline index gained 2.27% to 1,277.71 points after advancing 0.2% a day earlier.
The joint SRX index of the bourses in Belgrade and Vienna rose 4.30% to 303.51 on Thursday.
The Belgrade bourse's total turnover soared to 149 million dinars ($2.3 million/1.6 million euro) from 31.4 million dinars on Wednesday.
Trade in government securities generated 5.7 million dinars of Thursday's turnover, compared to 8.7 million dinars a day earlier.
Agricultural wholesaler Agrooprema was the most traded company on Thursday, generating 108 million dinars of turnover. Shares rose 8.26% to 3,789 dinars.
Blue chip AIK Banka gained 3.55% to 2,334 dinars in the session's second-highest turnover of 8.9 million dinars.
Blue-chip soybean producer Sojaprotein added 3.76% to 994 dinars in the day's third-largest turnover of 8.3 million dinars.
Construction firm Planum was the biggest gainer on Thursday, advancing 11.89% to 1,299 dinars.
Twenty-eight stocks gained on Thursday, 12 declined and 6 remained unchanged.
